"So dude, you would be now eating in a mess with all the formalized table manners besides eating at the street food with us"- asked my brother while swallowing the chicken kebab into his mouth.
"Yeah, but the very experience of having a formalized dinner is by itself stunning. I had dinner at the mess during my training"- he mildly said.
"Are you provided with a non-vegetarian meal occasionally?"- I asked while sipping the chicken soup. I was curious to know whether army men get to eat a non-vegetarian meal because they are supposed to respect the motherhood and eating non-vegetarian food might have been a restriction. I tried my hard to correlate the heart-rendering feature of the army to that of eating a non-vegetarian meal.
His response to my flagship question was a bit perplexing. He said that the first thing that army men are taught is: Karam he Dharam hai, means Your deeds are your religion. He added that they get to eat a non-veg meal everyday at the mess. They eat on Tuesdays and Thursdays and respect their own work of guarding the motherhood because for them their deeds is their religion and there is no good religon than serving the nation.
I went back home and thought about it. I found that there were 'n' reasons I could give to respect my religion and 'n+1' reasons to contradict my own view. Ultimately, I was amidst confusion. Let me tell you, I hate being in that state. I eat non-vegetarian food as and when I feel like, I like to respect my own views but somewhere down the line I'm not able to make fine judgement.
Whether my deeds are right-Yes or No? If yes, then I should start respecting my deeds and consider it my religion and if the answer is no, then why the hell I'm there in this world.
